Replica Bolt Pistol 1 by Renquist-von-Reik Replica Bolt Pistol 1 by Renquist-von-Reik
Here's a side view of a life sized bolter replica I made. This is a resin casting of my original model all painted up to be the personal side arm of a Cadian officer, hence the green color scheme ;)

It is 12" long, 10" tall, and 3" wide and weighs about 6 lbs.

Other images of the Bolt Pistol:

There's a post on my blog with a detailed look at how I made the pistol.
You can check it out here - [link]

I see some Maverick poking out of that Bolter! :D

Do you have pictures of your molds? Brush on? What resin did you cast the parts in? People seem to like Smooth Cast 300.

Yeap hehe. I cut the handle off a Maverick and cast it for this project. Sadly there's no more Maverick hiding inside, just the grip :D

I don't have any pictures of the molds, but they're 2 piece pour molds. The pistols are solid and weigh quite a bit lol. I used Smooth Cast 321 for the majority of the gun but the winged skull side details are Color Match 325

It's a good call no matter where you found it! ;) The RPGs have been good at identifying the patterns they give rules for which has been awesome for lore geeks like me (and you I'm guessing:D).

The weapon patterns are some of the more obscure information in 40k, aside from a few famous examples like the Godwyn pattern bolter. I seriously don't think GW even knows what the difference is between half of the patterns they've named!

For example, what's the difference between a Filienostos pattern bolter and the Perinetus pattern? I didn't make those names up either lol!

It is! I cut it off the Nerf Maverick and sanded off the nubbins. It was a perfect match for the bolt pistol grip in the blueprint I was using so decided to save a little time that way ;)

Thanks!

Good catch on the grep hehe. It's totally cut off a nerf maverick. I did that not only to save a little time but also because it looks damn near perfect for a bolter/bolt pistol. I swear whoever designed it for nerf was a warhammer fan ;)

Very nice.

I always got time for peeps who scratch build firearm props,
never too keen on Nerfs just painted a different colour haha.

I made a Bolter out of junk a while back & am in the process of repainting & pimping it.
I was toying with the idea of putting the winged skull on the side, I think i will now as yours looks cool.

Thank you very much!

I really tried to get more skulls on it, but it started to look heretical. In the end I settle for a conservative one per side :D
